"I come from a proud family that has been involved in public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create more living-wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety a top priority. I would like to encourage the knowledge of our Constitution and our rights to bear arms. With over a decade of jurisprudence experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated situations, and get things done."

 LIST OF ISSUES

ALLOCATION OF COUNTY FUNDS
The responsibility as a taxpayer and many citizens voicing their concerns with the continued rise of taxes helps me understand the need to thoroughly review all budget items and spending throughout the county.  Our responsibility as leaders of this community is to ensure a safe and productive environment.  This begins with understanding the needs of our citizens. I have always encouraged all points of view to be heard and to actively listen as a leader.  My experience with adult and juvenile justice has allowed me to problem solve using the materials and funds available. I understand that the county runs on the resources taxpayers contribute, and as a previous supervisor with the county, I (along with a strong team) was able to help achieve goals with the cuts that were implemented. I have read and studied Commissioner’s Court minutes from 2021 and realize the need for more focus on budgets as it relates to emergency medical services, law enforcement, and other entities within Atascosa County.
Mental Health
The duties of our County Judge encompass many responsibilities. One of the areas I'm concerned with is the treatment and overall awareness of mental health.  My experience in working with juvenile youth and incarcerated adults has helped me understand the need for addressing mental health in our community.  I feel that the amount of untreated mental health cases in our county has led to the increase of prescription drug misuse, substance abuse, and/or self-harm. I believe that mental health can and will lead to increased organized crime.  The office I hope to be voted into will assist in bringing forward the need for encouraging mental health training and knowledge of trauma that many citizens do not understand. This information will extend to county employees and the public.
